New Delhi, Sep 6 (IANS) Dengue cases continued to rise unabated in the national capital with 75 new cases of the vector-borne disease reported Monday, taking the number of those infected to 1,370 so far, an official said.

A Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) official said that while 1,349 cases were from the city, 21 cases were from outside. Three people have died of the disease.

He said the central and south zones have been the worst affected with reports of 201 and 224 cases, respectively.

The indefinite strike by over 1,500 mosquito-breeding checkers could hamper anti-dengue operations and fogging measures in the capital.

The city has been witnessing over 70 new dengue cases daily in recent days.
