Mumbai, Sep 5 (IANS) A 28-year-old youth was killed and two others sustained minor injuries when a dilapidated building collapsed in the northeastern suburb of Ghatkopar Sunday morning, an official said.

The youth has been identified as Dattaram Jadhav who was buried under the debris of the two-storied building, fire brigade sources said.

The Jadhav family was residing in the dilapidated building, Shakuntala Nivas, which had been declared as dangerous by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) a few years ago.

The family continued to live there despite several eviction notices served by the BMC. This is the third incident of building collapse in the city during the current monsoon.
