London, January 30 (ANI): Theatre bosses have decided to pull the plug on the West End production of Hairspray after successfully running it for nearly three years.

The show, which bagged a string of awards and raked in more than 50 million pounds since its debut in London, will meet its end in March.

Bill Taylor, chief executive officer of Stage Entertainment UK, said the show had run its natural course.

"After two and a half wonderful years, many awards and hundreds of thousands of happy Hairspray audience members, we have decided to bring the production to a close at the Shaftesbury Theatre on Sunday 28 March," the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

"Every show, even a big, glorious hit show like this one, has a natural life and for now it's time for Hairspray to leave London," he added. (ANI)
