London, January 26 (ANI): Indian child star Rubina Ali, who hails from a slum in Mumbai but starred in Oscar winning film 'Slumdog Millionaire,' has thrown her first-ever birthday party.

The celebration reportedly took place at a shack close to an open sewer.

However, the 11-year-old will soon move into a flat in Mumbai with her family.

"It is the happiest I have ever seen Rubina," the Daily Star quoted family friend Dinesh Dubey, as saying.

Rubina had learnt her date of birth only after she applied for a passport to travel to the Oscars last year. (ANI)
