Village lo Vinayakudu – Neat Family Entertainer

Starring: Krishnudu, Saranya Mohan, Yandamuri and others

Director: Saikiran Adivi

Music: Manikanth Khadri

Release Date: 05 November 5, 2009

Krishnudu comes back as hero once again after Vinayakudu. The new film is a sequel to the hit film Vinayakudu and it once again revolves around the ‘fat hero’.

Story:

The story is pretty simple. Karthik (Krishnudu) is a teacher. He comes across Kavya (Saranya Mohan) who is a medico and slowly falls in love with her. Kavya also loves Karthik. Kavya hs lost her mother at an early age and hence her father brings her up with lot of love and affection.

Kavya’s father lives in a village with his sons. When Kavya tells her father that she is in love, he does not reject but is aghast to see that Karthik is very fat. Kavya’s father cannot say no as he does not want to hurt his daughter in any way but at the same time he is unable to accept a fat guy as his son-in-law.

Kavya’s father consults his friend Bhaskaram (Yandamuri Veerendranath) and asks him to help him out. Bhaskaram’s ideas actually only complicate things further for Kavya and her father.

The rest of the story is how Karthik manages to finally convince Kavya’s father that he is indeed that right man for his daughter.

Performance:

Krishnudu once again plays a fat and innocent hero. In a way he carries forward the good work he put in Vinayakudu. Krishnudu comes up with a performance as per the expectations of the audience.

Saranya Mohan is just average. She seems to be a miscast opposite Krishnudu. Saranya is too frail and does not complement Krishnudu in any way.

Rao Ramesh as a retired military officer does a good job. Yandamuri Veerendranath is okay but his character has not been etched properly. The rest of the star cast is okay.

Analysis

Village Lo Vinayakudu has some good music and stunning visuals. The village atmosphere has been captured beautifully. The film runs at a slow pace in the first half but pick up momentum in the second half. The story is good but the screenplay is weak.

Village Lo Vinayakudu is a neat little film with some clean comedy and can be watched with the entire family.
